I am a Masters Candidate at the University of Victoria, where I have immersed myself in the study of Japanese Popular Culture for the last four years. My interest in Japanese Street Fashion, Cosplay, Shojo Manga, and Magical Girls have segued into a life of Convention hopping throughout the Pacific Northwest with my seven-year-old son. What began as a dare – what would happen if I did a panel on magical girls – has evolved into the greatest adventure of my life, being invited to amazing conventions and meeting new, amazing people.
I have completed my thesis (yay!) and will graduate with my masters in November of this year.
Conventions I have been invited to present at include:
- Anime North 2017 (With Charles Dunbar)
- Puli Con at the Puyallup Public Library (May 2017 – featured Speaker)
- Emerald City Comicon (March 2017, 400+ room capacity)
- Tsukino-Con (Regular Local Panelist)
- GeekGirlCon (October 2016, Moderator)

- Anime Revolution Winter (February 2016, Three panels at capacity)
